When you participate in the New Home Energy Savings Program, you’ll save money on your upgrades and enjoy savings on your energy bill for many years. Plus, you’ll receive an EnerGuide Label. Building with efficiency in mind can help you qualify for mortgage insurance refund programs. The energy-saving measures you perform could help you get 25% back on your mortgage insurance premiums through Canada Mortgage and Housing, Sagen™ or Canada Guaranty.

How it Works

It’s easy to get started with the New Home Energy Savings program. Follow these 6 simple steps to build comfort and savings into your new home.

Register

Complete our online registration form before you apply for your building permit or call us at 1 800 663-6272. Select the Service Organization of your choice.

Have Your Building Plans Modeled

After registering, you will be contacted to begin the process of modeling and evaluating your plans. A program fee ($99+ HST) is required before modeling begins. You can expect your building plans to be modeled within three to four weeks of the date of your registration.

Review Report

Based on your plans, the report from the registered energy advisor will outline two paths to consider for making your home more energy efficient.

Build Your Home

Choose your efficiency and incentive level and build your home to those specifications. Be sure to save your receipts and product stickers!

On-Site Evaluation

Your Certified Energy Advisor will do an on-site evaluation. The results will be used to determine any incentive you may be eligible to receive.

Receive Your Rebates!

Save your required receipts and product stickers to ensure you receive your incentive. Receiving your payment is quick and easy.
